Nepal textile and apparel exports continued to decline in the export of textiles and garments _ Chin

this fiscal year (since July 16, 2012) for the first 10 months, Nepal include clothing, blankets, shawls, textile and apparel exports decreased two digit.

10 months, Nepal on Third World countries (except India) garment exports fell 27.9% to 2500000000 rupees. From 2005 the United States of America end its duty-free quota measures, Nepal garment export has shown a downturn trend. In the 10 months, Nepal shawl global amounted to 1260000000 rupees, drop compared to the same period 51%. Nepal in the past few years shawl exports have declined, shawls enterprises are worried that the government is not enough to support the industry to open up new markets. Nepal to third world countries carpet exports to 4950000000 rupees, representing a decrease of 12.9%. Over the same period, the import of textiles from India clothing 2470000000 rupees, reduced by 9% compared with the previous fiscal year; from the third world countries, mainly China's imports 27.9%, imports amounted to 2500000000 rupees. Recently, the world trade organization branch of International Trade Center promised to provide $2000000 to support Nepal and enhance the development of Cape trade plan, promote the development of Nepal shawl industry.
